The Hair Magazine works with hairdressers, salons, academies, and educators across the international hair industry — on shoots, in collaborations, and through the professional network we’ve built over years of editorial work. That work takes our editors into studios and cities around the world, where we keep encountering people and places doing something that stays with us.

The Hair Atlas is where we put those places on the map: a curated editorial selection of hair salons and academies, along with schools and other professional locations, that our editorial team considers worth knowing.

Inclusion is an editorial judgment, and a considered one. Behind an entry there may be exceptional craft, real technical command, serious teaching, a distinctive creative direction, an original approach to technique or education, genuine standing within the profession — or simply something about the place our editors found compelling. Not everywhere is included, and that’s the point: The Hair Atlas reflects the view of The Hair Magazine’s editors rather than a universal scorecard. If a salon or academy appears here, it’s because we believe it’s worth your attention.
